4 Months Old!

Another month has flown by, with the triplets getting bigger and bigger!  We hope everyone has been able to get out and enjoy this beautiful weather we have been having. We took our first walk a couple of weeks ago (picture below). We definitely got a lot of stares from the neighbors and people driving by :)  All 3 babies in the last few weeks have all been working very, very hard at getting their thumbs in their mouths. They also have been very interested in watching their hands and mom and dad's faces. They love bright colored toys with sounds so they can also follow those with their eyes.  They have also all started cooing and smiling when you talk to them. It has made all these hard nights the last couple of months so worth it!! It's amazing how those 3 little smiles can just melt your heart!  Last Sunday we also took our first family outing to Stillwater to visit our very good family friends Tonia and Steve O'Brien. It was great to get everyone out of the house together. They babies did pretty good in the car and they did great on the visit. We are hoping to get out more often as a family. Here are the updates on each of the babies:
Mason James
Mason is still our big boy weighing in at 14 lbs 4 ozs at their doctor appointment on Friday. For the most part he is still the first one to let us know when it is time to eat. We will be bringing him down to Children's Hospital again this time to have the red mark by his eye checked out, called a hemangioma. A lot of babies are born with these, and they eventually go away on their own, but with it being so close to his eye they want to make sure it doesn't affect his vision at all. If need be, he will have to have surgery to have it removed, a process they do with a laser. Otherwise, they expect that it will go away on it's own in the next few years.
Dylan Patrick
Dylan also put on some good weight the last 2 months, now weighing in at 12 lbs 2 ozs. He surprised mom and Grandma Bonnie last Friday night when he rolled over from his stomach to his back. He by far has been the most vocal with his cooing and very smiley. He has it down so that when you go to put him down for his naps he kind of smiles at you hoping that you will pick him back up. We try hard not to fall for it, but sometimes it's fun to pick him back up just to play for a couple of more minutes.
Madelynn Grace
Our little Maddy has almost reached the 10 lb mark. On Friday she was just 1 oz below at 9 lbs 15 ozs.  You can see from the picture above she is starting to finally get chubby little cheeks like her brothers. We have a saying in our house, if Maddy ain't happy, ain't nobody happy, as when she gets upset, the whole house knows it. Sometimes when she cries really hard Dylan will start to cry as if he knows something isn't ok with her. A few weeks ago Dylan was cooing and Maddy would copy him exactly as if they were talking to each other. :)
