Even though they are triplets, each one of the babies has their own unique characteristics. They are all as sweet as can be, and we absolutely can't get enough of them. They are still on a good schedule, mainly it is if 1 baby eats, they all eat. Just in the past few days they have been starting to eat their last feeding for the day at 7 pm and make it close to midnight, giving mom and dad a little time to themselves before off to bed for the night. They usually wake up to eat again around midnight, 3 am, 6 am and so on. We are really, REALLY looking forward to them skipping that 3 am feeding, even if it means bumping up the 6 a feeding up an hour or 2, but until then mom and dad will just keep chugging along, 1 feeding at a time :)
Mason James
Mason is proving to be our little eater. You would think by his size he would be able to make it longer than the other 2, but you can bet his little cry is the first one to wake us up every night to eat. Usually we have to wake Maddy and Dylan to eat after him, as his belly likes to be full. He is getting close to growing out of the 3 month clothes we have him in, probably the end of next week we will have to start putting him in the 6 month sizes. He is definitely our little snuggler, and would prefer to be held more than anything else. We had to take him down to Children's hospital the end of January to have his belly button looked at, as it turned out he has an umbilical hernia. The doctors said it should heal up on it's own in the next year or so, and already we have noticed a great improvement. It is getting smaller, as his belly button was completely popped out and huge. We are guessing he is getting close to the 13 pound mark, but we won't know for sure until we go in for our next appointment mid March.
Dylan Patrick
Dylan so far is our most independent little guy. He is content with laying on his belly doing tummy time, sucking on his pacifier, or sitting in the bouncer chair. We think that he will be the first one to roll over, as when he does do his tummy time, he lifts his butt and legs super high and to the side. He also is the best at lifting his head up. We are guessing that Dylan is getting close to the 10 pound mark, but again we won't know for sure until their appointment. Dylan is still fitting good into the 3 month clothes, but won't be behind Mason in getting into the 6 month size. Sometimes when burping Dylan, he bounces his head around and coo's, which is one of the sweetest sounds a parent could hear!
Madelynn Grace
Maddy is proving to be our little princess. She is definitely gaining weight, and we are hoping she is catching up to her brothers. She is close to growing out of her newborn size clothes, which is great since it means she is putting on lots of weight. We looked back at the preemie outfit we brought her home in and can't believe she was that small. Maddy is also pretty independent, but she does like to snuggle a lot too.
Kita Wild (& Mason)
And we can't forget Kita, our 'first' child. He is adjusting to life at home with 3 babies pretty well. He has had a hard time with knowing that the stuffed animals and toys aren't his, but he is very, very gentle around the babies. For the most part he keeps away from them, but every once in a while will come and see what all the fuss is about. When Dylan and Maddy start crying really hard, he will make little noises, just incase we didn't hear the babies crying :)
Well, we are off, it's feeding time and babies are crying. We hope everyone is doing great and enjoying this mild winter!
Lots of love,
S&B+3
